2025 trips
Our trips are run through Heart for Africa (US) but are open to our Canadian friends! Our trips focus on four specific areas: Hunger, Orphans, Poverty, and Education. Participating in this 11-day service trip will make an eternal impact on your life and the lives of those you go and serve in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). Sample Trip Itinerary & general information

Day 1
Depart from North America.
Day 2
Arrive in Johannesburg and stay overnight at the City Lodge Airport Hotel.
Day 3
Drive to Eswatini, check-in, and group orientation.
Day 4/5
Tour of Project Canaan Farm and Children’s Campus, participate in planned activities, and visit a homestead in the rural community to deliver food, clothing and spend time with the family.
Day 6
Spend the day on Project Canaan.
Day 7
Participate in scheduled activities on Project Canaan followed by a performance by our Project Canaan kids at Ekhaya, our on-site Swazi homestead.
Day 8
Spend the day at Hlane Royal National Park for a safari game drive with your team and Project Canaan kids.
Day 9
Attend church on Project Canaan in the morning and participate in a feeding program at one of our church partners in the rural community in the afternoon.
Day 10
Check-out, depart for the 5-hour van ride back to Johannesburg with a stop at the Ngwenya Glass Shop (time permitting). Depart Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport.
Day 11
Arrive back in North America.
Please note that each trip fills on a first come, first served basis. Your initial deposit secures your reservation for a specific trip, but the reservation must be maintained by meeting the funding deadlines we will provide to you in communications following your registration.
Heart for Africa does require a background check through Protect My Ministry for all adults. A link to complete this will be provided to you upon completion of your trip registration.
The ground costs include lodging, meals, supplies, ground transportation, administrative fees and travel medical insurance. Due to cost and exchange rate adjustments, any remaining funds will go toward general support of the mission. Please note that all donations towards your trip’s cost are non-refundable. All payments are in USD, not CAD. The Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) does not permit issuance of tax receipts for payments or donations made towards service trips.
Want to travel with a group? Need flexibility?
Our trips include individuals and groups looking for the perfect opportunity to give back to those in need. Heart for Africa (Canada) is happy to welcome groups from organizations, universities, churches or businesses to Project Canaan. If you are interested in bringing a group, but need flexibility in your travel dates, connect with us! We are happy to work with groups to find alternative dates of travel.
